Review: Girl, Stolen, By: April Henry

To tell you the truth, I have definitely read better books than this one...

Overall, Girl, Stolen was a fairly decent book. It was pretty much just another one of those small short books that you read to fill in the time. Now, I received this book from my school library when they were giving away some free books. Please don't start yelling at me. I know that most of the time that libraries or bookstores are giving away free books, it means that nobody wants to read them. However, I did find a few books that looked like they good be interesting. Girl, Stolen was one of them.

Girl, Stolen is a book about a girl named Cheyenne. Now, there is something a little bit different about Cheyenne, and that is that she is blind. Cheyenne was waiting in the back of her stepmoms car when somebody got in and started to drive away. Cheyenne has no idea who this person is, and can't even get a good  vision of what this person looks like, because she is blind. Now, the book goes on to her finding out that she has been kidnapped. It's pretty much just another basic kidnapping story. Just to let you know, none of this gave anything away, the book has pretty much all of this on the back of it.

I'm not going to say that I didn't enjoy this book at all, because there were some good, interesting parts in it. However, it was just a really predictable book. You knew when most of the stuff was going to happen, and there wasn't a lot of original ideas thrown in. One of the good things about the book though was that it was a pretty easy read. There weren't a lot of concepts throughout the book that needed a lot of thinking about, you could just skim through it basically, and get the whole idea.

Girl, Stolen is a pretty short book, with just over 200 pages. This means that it's one where if you don't have anything at all to read, then you can just pick this one up, and give it a quick read through. There were some parts in this book, I'm not going to lie, that drew me in a little bit. However, there weren't enough to really get myself lost in it.

This is one of those books where I'm going to recommend that you can read this book if you have a lot of time on your hands, or you're just looking for a quick read. However, I wouldn't recommend this book if you were hoping for a really intense thriller, because this book definitely wasn't one of those.
